    Prathama Kisan Credit Card Scheme Overview:

    Prathama Bank offers credit card schemes to enable farmers to have short term and medium term financial assistance. There are three cards available to farmers for agricultural purposes and allied activities. All farmers are eligible as long as they live within the operational region of the bank. There is also a credit card offered for non-agricultural activities to artisans, craftsmen, weavers and self-employed people in the rural and semi-urban areas.

    Features and Benefits:

    Purpose:

    The purpose of the Prathama Credit Card Schemes are to meet the short, medium and long term requirements of a farmer. The credit is given to provide adequate financial assistance to the agricultural sector.

    Repayment period:

    Depending on the choice of credit card, the validity of the card can range between 3 - 5 years. The scheme is renewable after annual reviews every year.

    Quantum of finance:

    The loan amount or credit limit sanctioned depends on the card of your choice. The limit under the Kisan Credit Card Scheme is subject to the cropping pattern, cost of cultivation and scale of finance. The limit is Rs. 25,000 on the other cards.

    Security:

    Security in the form of land mortgage, charge creation of land, or third party guarantors is required.

    Prathama Credit Card Schemes:

    There are four rural credit card schemes offered by Prathama Bank.

    Prathama Kisan Credit Card (PKCC):

    • This card is issued to meet the short term needs of the farmer. Cardholders are allowed to make credit and debit transactions as frequently as they wish.
    • Every farmer who resides within the operational area of the Prathama Bank Branch is eligible for this scheme.
    • The credit limit on this card is determined based on the existing or proposed cropping pattern. The District Technical Committee will determine the cost of cultivation and the scale of finance.
    • The card is valid for 3 years subject to annual review.
    • There is no margin limit required for credit limits up to Rs. 50,000. For limits above Rs. 15,000, 15% margin is required.
    • For security, charge creation over agricultural land or simple registered mortgage is required. Two co-obligants of the loan is also required.
    • The repayment procedure for this card is as per the cash flow of the farmer. This depends on the crop harvesting as per the duration of the crops. Generally, the expenses should be repaid in a year.

    Prathama Sarvagin Krishi Card (PSKC):

    • This card provides both short term and medium term credit to farmers. The card has a dual purpose.
    • The quantum of finance for the short term credit is determined as per the existing or proposed cropping pattern. The District Technical Committee will determine the cost of cultivation and the scale of finance.
    • For the medium term finance, the loan amount is determined by the proposed cost of machinery, assets and livestock and so on.
    • Every farmer who resides within the operational area of the Prathama Bank Branch is eligible for this scheme.
    • There is no margin limit required for credit limits up to Rs. 50,000. For limits above Rs. 15,000, 15% margin is required.
    • The card is valid for 5 years.
    • For security, charge creation over agricultural land or simple registered mortgage is required. Two co-obligants of the loan is also required.
    • The repayment procedure for this card is different for the two purposes.
    • The medium term loan repayment is as per the cash flow of the farmer. It can be paid half yearly or in yearly instalments.
    • The short term loan repayment is done as per the crop harvesting which depends on the duration of the crops. This is subject to annual review.
    • Generally, the expenses should be repaid in a year.

    Prathama General Credit Cards (GCC):

    • Under this scheme, farmers can avail of revolving funds. This increases the liquidity available to the farmers.

    • The credit limit is currently Rs. 25,000 maximum.
    • There are no margin requirements under this scheme.
    • The card is valid for 3 years.
    • No security is required, however, third party guarantee is required from two co-obligors.
    • All farmers can apply if they reside in the operational area of the branch.
    • These cards are available only in the semi urban and rural areas.

    Prathama Swarozgar Credit Card (PSCC):

    • This card is issued to the non-agricultural rural sector.
    • The card provides finance to the weavers, artisans, and small craftsmen. The finance comes with easy loan terms.
    • The maximum loan amount is Rs. 25,000.
    • No margin is required.
    • No security is required either but third party guarantee from two co-obligors is needed.
    • The card is valid for 5 years and subject to annual reviews.
    • Self-employed, artisans, small craftsmen, and weavers can apply.
