SBI Mutual Fund is one of the largest investment firms in India and has over 5.4 million investors. It is a partnership between public lender, the State Bank of India (SBI) and AMUNDI, a France-based private investment firm. SBI Funds Management Pvt. Ltd. is the fund manager of SBI Mutual Fund and the fund house offers around 61 schemes across categories of equity, debt, hybrid, index, ETFs, etc.

The SBI Contra - Regular Plan - Dividend is an open-ended equity scheme that follows a contrarian investment strategy. The contrarian strategy is one which goes against prevailing market trends by purchasing when others are selling, and selling when others are purchasing. The dividend option of the scheme offers regular income to the investor.

NAV Disclosure and Benchmark for SBI Contra Fund

The scheme’s NAV is obtained by dividing the scheme’s net assets by the number of outstanding units on the date of valuation. The NAV will be rounded off by 4 decimal places and disclosed at the end of every business day. The NAV will be updated on the website of AMFI (www.amfiindia.com) and website of SBI Mutual Fund (www.sbimf.com) by 9:00 p.m. every business day.

The NAV will also be sent to at least 2 newspapers for publication on every business day. The newspapers publishing the NAV will have a nationwide circulation. The scheme’s monthly portfolio will also be available on the official website of Invesco Mutual Fund on or before the 10th day of the succeeding month.

Mr. Dinesh Balachandran

The SBI Contra Fund is managed by Mr. Dinesh Balachandran who has been managing the scheme since 5 May 2018. He joined SBI Funds Management Pvt. Ltd. in March 2012 and has more than 17 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining SBI Mutual Fund, Mr. Balachandran had worked with Fidelity Investments, USA. Apart from the SBI Contra Fund, he also manages the SBI Dynamic Asset Allocation Scheme and the SBI Magnum Tax Gain Scheme.
