      SBI General Insurance has partnered with Google Pay to offer health insurance to its users. This collaboration will help in the expansion of general insurance solutions via digital mediums. The collaboration is also the first such partnership between Google Pay and an Indian insurance company.

      Users will be able to buy Arogya Sanjeevani, a standard health insurance policy at affordable premiums from the Google Pay platform.

    • Emergency use approved for Covaxin for kids aged 2 to 18 years subject to certain conditions

      Bharat Biotech's Covaxin has been approved for emergency situations in a restricted use format for kids aged 2 to 18 years. There will be a gap of 20 days between the administration of the first and second dose. However, it will continue to be subjected to studies as per the clinical trial protocols that were approved. For the first two months, safety data should also be submitted every 15 days after which it has to be submitted on a monthly basis.

    • Centre extends health insurance scheme to Anganwadi workers, helpers

      The Government of India on Tuesday extended the umbrella of the health insurance scheme for frontline to Covid-19 workers and announced that Anganwadi workers and helpers will also be included under the scheme. The move is likely to benefit as many as 13,29,000 Anganwadi workers and 11,79,000 Anganwadi helpers, who will be getting a health cover of Rs.50 lakh.

      The eligible people will include those who worked during the pandemic engaging in – awareness drives for Covid-19, door-to-door ration distribution, community fever surveillance, interacting with families affected by Covid-19 and also helped by providing support for home quarantine.

    • 8.5 lakh families in Punjab to be covered by the State Government

      Nearly 8.5 lakh families and farmers in Punjab will be offered health insurance cover by the Government of Punjab for the year 2021-22.

      Farmers who have 'J' forms and 'sugarcane weighment slips' will be eligible to be provided cover under the health scheme.

      It will be mandatory to have 'J' forms to avail finance, subsidy claims and tax waivers.

      In order to help the farmers, apply easily for the scheme, a dedicated portal has been launched by the Punjab Mandi Board for the first time. Farmers can now avail the scheme through this portal by visiting www.emandikaran-pb.in. There, they will have to upload the necessary documents.

      The entire premiums for the insurance cover of all the farmers will be paid by the Board, as farmers will receive cashless treatment facility up to Rs.5 lakh p.a. The scheme came into effect from 20 August 2021 and will cover the eligible farmers and their family members.

    • Rs.5 lakh health cover in Telangana with Aarogyasri, Ayushman merger

      The maximum health protection cover for 79 lakh families in Telangana has been increased to Rs.5 lakh after Telangana government’s Aarogyasri Health Scheme and Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Scheme merged together.

      Earlier, under the the Aarogyasri scheme, the maximum cover offered was Rs.2 lakh per year to each of the 79 lakh families. However, post the merger, the cover has been increased to Rs.5 lakh.

      On 18 May, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the State Health Department and the National Health Authority for the implementation of Ayushman Bharat (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) scheme in the State.

      The scheme will cover around 1,028 health illnesses or diseases under Aarogyasri Scheme, and 1,668 conditions under Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

      Patients from other states can also visit the state and avail the scheme to opt for treatment ay hospitals in the state.

    • IRDAI states that Covid-19 vaccination adverse reactions should be covered under health insurance policies

      The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has stated that any hospitalizations required in the unlikely event of an adverse reaction following the Covid-19 vaccination will be covered under the recipient's health insurance policy. More than three crore beneficiaries have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far. Approximately 1 lakh frontline and healthcare workers have received the second dose also.

      On the occasion of International Labour Day, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has declared two insurance schemes for labourers. In the first insurance scheme, monetary assistance of Rs.2 lakh will be provided to all labourers of the state for any accidental death or disability. Moreover, health insurance of Rs.5 lakh will also be provided to them.

      I taken a health insurance from STAR HEALTH on last 6 months back which was taken via online. It covers my whole family of 3 members for the total amount of 5. The premium amount need to pay of 12K. The tenure period of 1 year. I have not used this card much. I haven't done any claim yet.

      I have taken a health insurance policy from Bajaj Allianz which was taken for my mother. Policy coverage value was Rs. 1L and the premium its a one time payment, i got a offer because i am maintain CREDIT SCORE good. Still there is a no claim and i paid 3 years back, during renewal time i am not getting any calls from insurance company. This policy covers 200 hospital 30-50% in all hospital can get a claim.

      My personal need I taken health insurance from RELIGARE on 2 years back. Actually my previous company taken health insurance got lapse, hence for better option I continued with same need to pay the premium of 5K. It covers up to myself. The coverage amount of 5L, since there is no claim yet I got bonus of 10% so as of now 5.5L. They tied up with many hospitals and cash less treatment is applicable.

      This is an individual policy, cover fro myself and this is from Max Bupa. Yearly i am paying premium of Rs. 3000 and the coverage value of Rs. 5L and still there is a no claim. Every year i am getting 5% no claim bonus and this is a life long policy. Its a tax benefit plan for major and listed hospitals can avail a cash less, if non listed have to pay then we can reimburse.

      My employer has given me a health insurance policy from ROYAL SUNDARAM and they have provided me a coverage amount of Rs. 3L. It covers myself and my spouse are covered in this policy.The premium amount need to pay of 7.5K on yearly basis. They have a cashless facility with many hospital.

      For my personal purpose, I have taken a health insurance from TATA AIG on 3 years back. On yearly, I use to renew the policy which I need to pay the premium amount of 20K via online. It covers up to myself. The sum assured amount is 2.4L. They tied up with limited hospitals only and there is no cashless treatment.

      I am paying about Rs. 20k yearly for health insurance to PARAMOUNT. This is group policy and the coverage of Rs. 10L since 5 years i am using this health insurance. I went for a claim which was reimbursed. The main factor is they are asking lots of documents which they need to make it simple.

      I have received the Bajaj Allianz mediclaim policy from Bajaj Finserv on EMI basis. Cashless facility is available and am paying Rs.640 for a month. This policy is not available in the market. I wish if their executive were more polite and helpful. Its a self policy which covers 5L. Am renewing this policy from last 3years.

      ICICI offered me a health insurance and this is a group policy which covered for Rs. 4L. This insurance will cover all types of critical illness and day care treatment, still there is no claim with ICICI Lombard. I can avail cashless treatment with the listed hospitals.
