    • Apollo Hospitals Group Gearing up to sell 23.1% stake in Apollo Munich Health Insurance

      Apollo hospitals group is all set to sell a 23.1% stake in its health insurance. The 23.1% stake in Apollo Munich Health Insurance will be sold to partner Munich Re of Germany for Rs 163.5 crore and the deal will see the insurer getting valued at Rs 703 crore

      The transaction will be completed upon the completion of customary agreements and the applicable regulatory approvals which is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2016. Once the stake has been sold off, the holding of Apollo Hospitals Group will be reduced to 51.1% from the previous 74.4%

      Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise and Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Ltd, Dr Prathap C Reddy said that this show of confidence in their joint venture partner will go a long way in making healthcare applicable to the masses and added that health insurance was key in making quality healthcare facility available and accessible to the masses.

    • New “Dengue Care” Insurance policy from Apollo Munich

      A new insurance product has been designed and released by Apollo Munich and provides cover against dengue. It’s the first over the counter (OTC) policy available in India for cover against infectious diseases, and is available at the extremely low price of Rs.444.


      The legendary cricketer and Apollo Munich brand advocate Saurav Ganguly was present at the announcement of the policy, urging people to pledge platelets and help people suffering from dengue, while mentioning the example of his own daughter.


      The one-time payment of Rs.444 entitles insured persons to up to Rs.50,000 inpatient cover, and up to Rs.10,000 OPD coverage in addition to Rs.10,000 for consultation, diagnostic tests, pharmacy expenses and nursing at home.


      Apollo Munich claims that this policy is applicable to multiple segments of the population. It is targeted at people who know about existing insurance policies and wish to add this to their coverage, and to those segments of society who have no insurance but have heard of the dangers of dengue and wish to be protected from medical bills arising from the same.
