Since the government introduced electronic transfer of funds through NEFT (National Electronics Fund Transfer) and RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement), the way we transfer funds in India has been changed drastically. No more complicated paperwork and long periods of wait. NEFT and RTGS has made financial transactions simple, fast and transparent. Both these methods make use of IFSC Code or MICR Code. It is possible to transfer any amount of money from any NEFT/RTGS enabled bank to a beneficiary who has an account in any other NEFT/RTGS enabled bank throughout the country. MICR Code (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition Code) is used for both domestic and international transactions. These unique codes was introduced by RBI to ensure enhanced speed, efficiency, security and accuracy while your money is transferred. Chances of fraud are also diminished because of these codes.

IFSC (Indian Financial System code) consists of 11 characters with both alphabets and numbers. Each branch of banks in India are assigned a unique IFSC. It consists of three parts: the first four characters are alphabets and represent the name of the bank. This is followed by the digit ‘0’ which is there for future use. The final six characters are usually numbers and indicate a particular branch.

  2. 6 settlements on Saturdays - at 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and 13:00 hrs.

Real Time Gross Settlement System (RTGS):

Real Time Gross Settlement System (RTGS) is one of the fastest and safest methods of fund transfer. RTGS is usually used to transfer large sums of money. RTGS transfers funds on an individual basis which means that the clearance of funds are scheduled individually and not batch-wise. State Bank of P ensures that all the transactions will be completed on the same day that the customer debits the fund, unless it has been done after the indicated time frame.

You will need the following information to use RTGS service at Corporation Bank:

  • The receiver’s name
  • The receiver’s bank and branch name
  • IFSC Code of the receiver’s bank
  • The transfer amount
  • The receiver’s account number
  • A remark for the receiver, if any

RTGS service can be used by customers between 0800 hrs and 16:00 hrs on weekdays and working Saturdays.

  • State Bank of Patiala Receives Special Award for Excellence in MSME Lending

    State Bank of Patiala has received ‘Special Award for Excellence in MSME Lending’ for the years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. This award has been given to the bank because of its brilliant performance. The bank has seen a growth of Rs.2597 crore (2013-14) and Rs.994 crore (2014-15).   • INR 2.36 Cr to PM Relief Fund for Chennai Rain Victims by State Bank of Patiala

    In support of the staffs of the State Bank of Patiala, Mr. S A Ramesh Rangan, MD of the bank along with the General Manager (RNW - Delhi) Mr. M V Krishna donated a cheque of INR 2.36 Cr to the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on 5th February 2016. It was contributed to the PM Relief Fund for assisting those who suffered losses in the recent natural calamity occurred in Chennai. This payment is an expression of the concern of around 15,000 staffs of the SBP, who gave off their one day’s salary towards this amount. The bank has electronic money transaction facility via NEFT/ RTGS using IFSC Code. The Bank had of late awarded the National Bravery Award Victors as part of this year’s Republic Day programmes and also bestowed Ambulances to Blind School and Red Cross as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. Minister appreciated this move of bank for supporting people in time of their need.

    State Bank of Patiala (SBoP) has recently launched the MUDRA card in Bathinda for the benefit of its customers. State Bank of Patiala customers were also encouraged to contact for a MUDRA loan at any SBoP branch and the sanction letters for loan offer were also distributed. The beneficiaries also received training at the Rural Self Employment Training Institute which was sponsored by State Bank of Patiala. Mudra scheme will enable non-farm income generating customers to avail loans up to Rs.10 lakh.

    As a leading public sector bank, in an effort to increase its presence, the State Bank of Patiala has opened various new branches at Peer Muchhalla, SAS Nagar, Zirakpur and Raipur Kalan in Chandigarh. With the opening of these new branches, the bank has expanded into the rural and semi-urban areas increasing its branch network to 1272. Peer Muchhalla and Zirakpur branches would be semi-urban branches and the new rural branch would be located at Raipur Kalan.
