State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ) IFSC Code:

The invention of online money transfer has simplified the lives of millions of people residing not only in urban but also some rural areas. It is a quick, simple and economical method of money transfer which does not require paperwork and is highly secure. Two popular methods of online money transfer introduced by the RBI are NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer) and RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement). Both these methods have redefined the process of funds transfer by making it streamlined, quick, efficient and also economic. NEFT and RTGS employ a special code, known as the IFSC (Indian financial System Code) for the purpose of money transfer. This code is issued by the RBI to all banks participating in the NEFT network and helps identify the source and destination banks in a transaction.

The IFSC is an 11 character code which contains a combination of alphabets as well as numbers. For better understanding, the IFS code can be broken down into three parts. The first 4 characters represent the name of the bank, the fifth character always remains zero and is reserved for future use and the last 6 characters represent the specific branch. So, for instance, the SBBJ IFSC code for Pushkar city in Ajmer, Rajasthan is SBBJ0010602. Here, the first 4 characters ‘SBBJ’ represent the name of the bank i.e. State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, the fifth character remains 0 and the last 6 characters ‘010602’ represent the code for the specific branch which is located in Pushkar, Ajmer.
