  • Recharge Feature of Religare Health Insurance

    Religare Health Insurance Company is one of the well-known insurance companies in India. It offers different types of health and travel insurance policies, that are popular because of the features and benefits they offer. For example - Recharge benefit. Religare Care and Care Freedom plans offer recharge benefits to the customers, which is equal to the Sum Insured (SI).

    Recharge benefit is reinstatement of the Sum Insured in a policy year. If a claim is payable in a policy year, then Religare Health Insurance will agree to reinstate up to the Sum Insured for that year.

    Recharge Benefit under Care Plan:

    Religare Care Plan is a comprehensive health insurance plan offered by Religare Health Insurance Company. This plan offers different options and a high amount of Sum Insured. The plan has automatic recharge feature and customers can choose to take Unlimited Automatic Recharge (optional cover).

    Automatic Recharge:

    In case of Automatic Recharge, if a claim is payable in a policy year under the Policy, then Religare Health Insurance will automatically reinstate up to the Sum Insured for that year, provided the following conditions are met:

    • The recharge facility can be used if the No Claims Bonus, No Claims Bonus Super, Additional Sum Insured for Accidental Hospitalisation and Sum Insured have completely exhausted in the policy year.
    • Claims will allowed under Recharge only if the same is allowed under Benefit I (Hospitalisation Expenses) of the policy.
    • This benefit is valid only for Benefit I (Hospitalization Expenses) of the policy.
    • The recharge is available only for making future claims that are not related to any of the previous claims (for any illness or injury) made during the Policy year.
    • While computing the Automatic Recharge amount, No Claims Bonus and No Claims Bonus Super will not be considered.
    • Recharge will be available on Floater basis if the Policy is issued to the customer on a Floater basis.
    • For single Claim during the year, the maximum amount of claim payable should be a total of the following:
      • Sum Insured.
      • No Claims Bonus Super.
      • No Claims Bonus.
      • Additional Sum Insured for Accidental Hospitaliza

        tion.

    • The total recharge sum should not be more than a total of the following:
      • Sum Insured.
      • No Claims Bonus Super.
      • No Claims Bonus.
      • Additional Sum Insured for Accidental Hospitalization.
      • Automatic Recharge.
    • Policyholders cannot carry forward their unused recharge sum to the next year.
    • In portability cases, the credit for SI will be accessible only to the extent of SI of the expiring policy, including Recharge.

    Unlimited Automatic Recharge:

    Unlimited Automatic Recharge is an optional cover and an extension to Automatic Recharge. Almost all the terms and conditions applied to Automatic Recharge also applies to Unlimited Automatic Recharge. Only difference is that here, the Recharge can be availed unlimited times during the policy year. In case of Single claim, the maximum liability of Religare Health Insurance Company will not be more than the Sum Insured. Also, the Company will not consider No Claims Bonus and No Claims Bonus Super while computing Unlimited Automatic Recharge.

    Recharge Benefit under Care Freedom Plan:

    Care Freedom Plan is a senior citizen health insurance plan offered by Religare Health Insurance Company. The plan offers 3 Lakhs, 5 lakhs, 7 lakhs or 10 lakhs as Sum Insured for a tenure of 1 year, 2 years or 3 years. For all the different Sum Insured options, the plan offers 100% of the original Sum Insured as Recharge of Sum Insured.

    Recharge of Sum Insured:

    In this case, if a claim is payable in a policy year under the Policy, then Religare Health Insurance will automatically reinstate up to the Sum Insured for that year, provided the following conditions are met:

    • The recharge facility can be used if the Sum Insured has completely exhausted in the policy year.
    • Claims will allowed under Recharge only if the same is allowed under Benefit I (Hospitalisation Expenses) of the policy.
    • The recharge is available only for making future claims that are not related to any of the previous claims (for any illness or injury) made during the Policy year.
    • The total recharge sum should not be more than the Sum Insured for that year.
    • Policyholders cannot carry forward their unused recharge sum to the next year.
    • In portability cases, the credit for SI will be accessible only to the extent of SI of the expiring policy, including Recharge.
    • Recharge will be available on Floater basis if the Policy is issued to the customer on a Floater basis.
    • For single Claim during the year, the maximum amount of claim payable will be lower of the Sum Insured or the per claim limit mentioned under the terms and conditions of the policy.
    • The aggregate Claim amount payable during a policy year will not be more than the total of the Sum Insured and Recharge of Sum Insured.
    • The Recharge balance will be available during the year until it is completely exhausted.
    • This recharge benefit is not available on Optional Covers.

    GST rate of 18% applicable for all financial services effective July 1, 2017.
