    Amex Credit Card PIN

A credit card PIN is the 4-digit personal identification number of the credit card user. The 4-digit PIN is non-confidential and is entered into the system when making a transaction online or at a merchant shop to authenticate the user and to ensure that the one making the transaction is the rightful owner of the credit card. When the credit card PIN is entered, the system matches the user ID and the PIN before allowing the customer to make a transaction. Usually, entering the credit card PIN is the last step of a transaction. If the user ID of the customer and the credit card PIN match, the transaction is approved.
